UPDATE - Due to the new FAA Sport Pilot Ruling, Destiny Powerchutes is no
longer in business & we no longer sell Powered Parachutes or provide flight training
We only fly for fun and do not provide flights for the general public anymore.  We've
decided  to leave our web site active to provide you with any information that may be of
interest to you.  Be aware that if you do purchase a used Powered Parachute it must
be "N"  numbered through the FAA by January 2008  or will NEVER be legal to
  fly from that date forward.

What is a Powered Parachute (PPC) and how does it work?

A powered parachute is one of the safest aircraft you can fly. A large propeller and single or dual seats are integral parts of a framework of aircraft grade steel alloy and aluminum tubes. The parachute is strategically attached to the airframe for maximum stability and aerodynamics.

Prior to takeoff, the parachute is laid on the ground behind the aircraft and then the pilot and passenger are buckled into the seats.  After the pilot starts the engine the throttle is slowly increased.  Once the aircraft begins to move forward, the parachute lifts off the ground as air begins to fill the cells.  As the parachute becomes stable overhead the pilot increases throttle until liftoff is achieved.  It's that simple!  Once in the air, altitude is increased or decreased simply by the pilot increasing or decreasing the throttle.   Turning the aircraft is just as simple.  The pilot has a left and right steering bar his feet rest on which have steering lines attached to them.  As the left steering bar is pushed, the steering line pulls down the left rear edge of the parachute thus creating drag which allows the powered parachute to turn to the left.  The same procedure is used to turn to the right with the right steering bar and right steering line.  Since the aircraft and passengers are suspended directly below the parachute during these turns, the stability of the pendulum effect makes for a very smooth turn.

Design considerations make a powered parachute virtually impossible to stall, roll, dive or loop, and landing does not even require power. Nothing is easier to Fly!

Destiny Powered Parachutes offer the first adjustable aft pilot seat which allows the pilot to make leg room comfort adjustments and to change the aircrafts center of gravity.

Concerned about having the time and knowledge to assemble a Destiny Powered Parachute?  No need to worry.  As the new leader in the Powered Parachute Industry, all new Destiny Powered Parachutes arrive fully assembled!  Destiny's commitment to deliver your Powered Parachute fully assembled, shows how serious we are about ensuring  your safety while flying.

We even include the highly recommended "The Powered Parachute Bible" with each new machine!
